DR. WENJIN DU
Veterinarian
Dr. Wenjin Du is the founder and owner of Silver Star Animal Hospital. He earned his D.V.M at Nanjing Agricultural University in 1994 and received his Masters degree in Microbiology three years later at South China Agricultural University. Afterwards, he practiced and conducted extensive research in veterinary medicine.
After immigrating to Windsor, Canada in 2001 with his wife and son, Dr. Du worked as a full-time researcher for Wayne State University to provide for his family while continuing his veterinary career path. His hard work led him to a job in the emergency department of an animal hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He continued to build experience in the Detroit-Windsor area as both an emergency and regular vet.
In 2010, Dr. Du and his wife opened their own animal hospital in Toronto. They wanted to serve the Chinese community by being the first veterinary clinic in the area to provide service in Chinese.
Dr. Du is a very experienced veterinarian who greatly values the wellbeing of his patients and clients. When not at the clinic, he enjoys cooking and relaxing at home with his two cats, Huniu and the other one.
DR. RONGBING SUN
Manager & Veterinary Technician
Dr. Rongbing Sun is the co-founder and co-owner of Silver Star Animal Hospital with her husband, Dr. Wenjin Du. She earned her D.V.M at Ningxia University in 1983 and her Masters degree in Microbiology at South China Agricultural University in 1997. Before immigrating to Canada, she accumulated nearly two decades of experience in veterinary medicine and veterinary vaccine development.
Dr. Sun loves animals and enjoys pampering her pets. Her hobbies include gardening and watching Chinese TV dramas. She volunteers throughout the Greater Toronto Area to give back to the Chinese community.

SHINREN
Good Dog
Shinren is the family pet of Dr. Du and Dr. Sun. Her name means "almond" in Chinese and she was named after the color of her fur. Shinren is a toy poodle with a big personality who loves attention and treats. She often comes out to greet guests at the clinic, so be sure to pet her and praise her for her hard work!
